When I was in Omaha, I visited my friend Teri's favorite gem and bead store, and I found some pretty fantastic things, including the strand of mixed gemstones that I paired with a love token in this necklace.
The gemstones are mostly subtle shades of purple, green, blue, and white--with the occasional bead in deep orangey-red for contrast--and the necklace closes with a sterling silver lobster claw clasp.
The charm is a Victorian silver coin that was made into a "love token." It is a three-pence piece that has a portrait of Queen Victoria on one side. On the reverse the surface of the coin has been smoothed out and a set of initials engraved. The initials are EB.
